yes I have. I was started on it about four months ago and am able to work better, stay focused on what ever is on my desk at the time and actually work until completion. I was a little nervous about starting it but am so glad I did. Another interesting thing is that I am actually sleeping! First time in years that I am getting more then three hours a night. Hope you have such good luck as well. I would have never thought that this drug would be helpful for bipolar disease.

Yes, Don't take it. You will get Addicted. If not, you will have major problems EVENTUALLY not right away but eventually with it. Do yourself a favor and stop taking it asap. Breggin.com

what problems did you have. I found that it didn't work as well the longer that I took it.

I began having a racing heart on the simpliest task but very bad when exercising. I have stopped taking it a week now and unfortunately once again find I am not focued on tasks so not getting as much done. What kind of side effects are you addressing other then dependency?

A racing heart which felt like you were "out of shape"?
or more like a racing heart which felt like you were extremely nervous?

The first couple of years it was such a mood boost to be on it, by my mood steadily returned to as it was before medication.

The first year I lost alot of weight and my psychiatrist told me to eat more and gain weight or she was going to take me off of it. I went to work on that and within 2 months I was heavier than ever and continued to gain weight despite efforts to lose weight.

a racing heart like I am out of shape. In face I was at my pp yesterday and that is what she said "you are out of shape." crap

I do miss the drug however because it kept me focused so my work was easier. Now i have about six projects all in different levels of completion but none done. ugh yes for now i would take it back but my nurse manager said there are alternatives so we shall see.

It has been ten days without this medicine and today all I could think about was using my box cutter or driving my car off a cliff. So I have not been able to get into my car and had to tolerate aday filled with suicidal thoughts. I restarted the adderall. Please tell me why this drug is so bad and what are the long term negative effects please.

just started taking this drug and after just a few days I can already tell quite a difference, with energy and mental focus. I am at a point of desperation. If I have to take it the rest of my life to be able to function so be it.

My son is on it and doesn't have any side effects! He is 18yr and was diagnosed when he was really young. He started out taking ritalin and after years of being on it, had to change to something different as the ritalin didn't work anymore. My son has been on adderall now since junior high. It helps him with distraction, focus, and hyperactivity and does really well.
I am 42yr and was diagnosed with add about 6yrs ago. I also take adderall 40mg daily (same dosage as my son). It helps me with focus, concentration, motivation, and energy. I also take depression meds that help depression and symptoms of add. I don't have any problems with adderall. I am a RN and believe me, I did lots of research cuz I didn't want my son taking a med that would harm him or change who he is as a person; and it has not!
I was under the impression that bipolar is treated with meds that are not stimulants?
Not all people react positively to meds, we are all different and sometimes it takes a couple tries to find the right med and right dosage.
If you have any questions, just ask! Good luck!
