Weight loss and Adderall

I have been and am experiencing this. It is very common. When I started my Adderall, I lost about 10-15 pounds in about a month. I don't take Adderall for weight loss, I take it to focus, but I have no appetite when I take it. But I have to force myself to eat and it is very hard to do. But normally I would not eat when I took my Adderall and it just made me feel horrible. Now I know better and force myself to eat regularly. Whereas before I would just chain smoke all day and drink Starbucks with 3 shots of espresso or Red Bull every single day. NOT GOOD. I am now 98 pounds hoping to gain a few now that I am eating properly. Make sure you are eating even if you do not feel like it. Oh and I kicked the Starbucks and Red Bull habits, but still smoke cigs every chance I get.
Another thing, Adderall is not the best drug to use for weight loss...you will lose lots of weight, but it could get out of hand. Also, if you sudddenly stop taking your Aderall, or if it wears off completely, you will find yourself in your kitchen eating anything you can get your hands on...like the "munchies" one gets after smoking weed. You will eat probably triple the amount you were eating before starting the Adderall. One of the many many many reasons people, like myself, have trouble going off Adderall.
yes when iwas about 14 i was takeing adderol as a new comer
and i was a little overweight probably weighed like 150
and it got out of hand and i would be takeing 2 to 3, 25mg a day
2 months later i weighed about 112 and i actually loved it
but i was addicted and relied on this medication to keep me happy
I repeat, maybe they won't delete my post this time: You should not take advice concerning your medications from people on a forum. If they had not had problems of some kind whether due to the medication or due to their mental health issues they would not be on a medication forum. Ask your doctor. If you don't trust your doctor's advice, find another doctor.
Adderral suppresses appetite, but unless you are morbidly obese it shouldn't be taken to lose weight. Losing a great volume of weight in a short period of time (as one sometimes does on adderall) is unhealthy and dangerous, and can lead to unhealthy eating habits/body image. also, as others have mentioned, using adderall as a crutch to curb appetite often leads to serious rebounds once medication is stopped. i gained 30 pounds from my starting point after quitting adderral and becoming quite thin, gaining 50 overall after losing 20 on the drug. I also have struggled with an eating disorder, so i am a biased example, but i just feel i should caution you lest more serious problems develop
