Hello Rscapricorn6. I was 6 when I was diagnosed with ADHD. I was on Ritlin for 7 and a half years. Of course the miligrams went up and down. I was 10 when my stepmom came into my life. By the time I was 14 we both decided that medication was not doing anything to me. I acted the same when I was on the medication and when I was not on the meds. I stopped taking the medication. I went down a very long and hard road of trying to cope with everything. There where a lot of fights and arguements. I am 26 years old now and every once in a while my ADHD symtoms comes out in my behavior. I used to say that I outgrew ADHD. Now I have come to the conclusion that I still have it but I learned how to control it.
Hey. im 20 and never been tested for ADHD but everyone keeps telling me that they think i have it. i cant stay on one topic for the life of me. i am also very fidgety and can never stay still. they are always like if you do have it you know you have to take meds right. and i say yea i know.
so yea if you do fine without meds then yea you probably did outgrow it.
Hello,
Of course you can heal up. As for nothing to do i get the same way, so i tinker on stuff. I guess that is one of my hobbies, i also like to shoot but that can get expensive quick so i reload my own now.
What i guess i'm getting at is that you should find things you like, work on them when you want or for how long you want. Do it for you.
Hope i helped some
hey lilgurllove---
thanks for your post. I have been off the add meds for over 4 months now, and I am doing just fine with lots of sleep and coffee. I don't jump from topic to topic as i used to,and i am gettting better at sitting still. I can concentrate on something for awhile, like an hour or two. But then i need to take a break usually...But thats the normal i think. People with add, can't focus for 10 minutes, let alone an hour, or is that just rumors?
yea ill be in a therapy session that lasts about 45 minutes and im constantly changing the subject. i cant help it. it just kinda happens.
im always moving my feet and hands.
ive drank so much coffee that it doesnt even affect me anymore. :( still love it though.
I love your whoop whoop comment down below.
you sound like a really great girl
thanks for your posts :-),
sound like you have Adhd
I might just have add, but i can pay attention as long as i have some coffee.
Im 21 years old I think i still have ADHD Im not the overactive person that I was when i was younger I actually think i have less energy now (I wish i had that energy lol) but all of high school I slacked cause of my ADHD didn't think ill really do anything in life cause of it basically , but I put my self through college got good grades now a senior I look at the past and i think people can control anything if you just sit down and do it. Yes i do have my skits of ADD in class and other things but that happens with anyone in life.

If you no longer need medication, then why not go with the theory that you have outgrown it?
